The presentation explores crop genetic diversity in rural Croatia. It shows how greater diversity can strengthen resilience, food security and sustainability. The presentation is based on a local case study.The project explored participatory plant population development. Farmers grow diverse crop varieties together and allow them to adapt naturally to local conditions. The project focuses on low-input organic farming.The presentation highlights community cooperation, seed sharing and local stewardship. These practices help preserve and develop crop diversity.The ultimate goal is to create dynamic crop populations adapted to local conditions. These populations can thrive under changing climatic, social and economic conditions. They can also support food sovereignty and affordable access to food.
